EV Charging Point Types
LTA and EDB, which co-chair the Electro-Mobility Singapore (EMS) taskforce, introduces the following approved types of EV chargers
For AC Charging only - Type 2 vehicle connectors
For AC & DC Charging - Combo-2 vehicle connectors
For AC & DC Charging - Type 2 (AC) and CHAdeMo (DC) vehicle connectors
Technical Compliance Checklist For Electric Vehicle Charging System
All motor vehicles, including battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), must be registered with the Land Transport Authority (LTA) before they can be driven on Singapore roads.
For Commercial EV Service Equipment Providers
Any manufacturer, distributor, or motor dealer who wishes to provide fixed EVSE to consumers, is required to submit an application for a Letter of No Objection (LNO). The application shall state the brand, model and power rating of the EVSE, with the relevant test report(s) and Certificate of Conformity of the EVSE attached for the IJP’s verification.
For Installation and Maintenance of EV Charger
- A Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) is required to install, test and certify the fitness of the installation
- The LEW must check that the EVSE is issued with a Letter of No Objection (LNO) to ensure that it complies with the technical requirements of TR25:2016 or the relevant International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards
- The LEW must ensure that compliance of the installation with Technical Compliance Checklist
